Chief Executive Officer, Baptist Hospital
William (Bill) Ulbricht is the Chief Executive Officer of Baptist Hospital of Miami, part of Baptist Heath South Florida, the largest not-for-profit multi-hospital healthcare system in the region, headquartered in Coral Gables, Florida. As CEO, Mr. Ulbricht is responsible for overall administrative and operational management of the hospital and its employees. Additionally, he is the lead executive champion of Miami Cardiac & Vascular Institute and Miami Neuroscience Institute.
Prior to his appointment as CEO of Baptist Hospital in May 2022, Mr. Ulbricht served as Chief Operating and Administrative Officer for the Clinical Enterprise division of Baptist Health since August 2019. Mr. Ulbricht was responsible for the administrative operational support of the Clinical Enterprise, system wide, which included Baptist Health Medical Group, Baptist Health Quality Network, eICU, Research, Home Health, and the support of the specialty institutes within Baptist Health.
Prior to joining Baptist Health, Mr. Ulbricht dedicated 23 years working with the BayCare Health System in Tampa, Florida, starting as Chief Operating Officer/President of South Florida Baptist Hospital in Plant City, Florida. An opportunity then arose involving the revitalization of St. Anthony’s Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida with Mr. Ulbricht driving the effort as its president. During his tenure with St. Anthony’s, the hospital increased its market share of patients served from 19% to a market lead of 41%. Additionally, St. Anthony’s also became the community’s leader in patient satisfaction and quality of care measurements as reported by several outside resources. Following St. Anthony’s success, Mr. Ulbricht was then promoted to Senior Vice President/Chief Administrative Officer for Baycare Medical Group – the largest medical group in Tampa Bay composed of Primary Care and many specialty physicians.
With almost 30 years of operational and management experience, Mr. Ulbricht has a strong background in healthcare finance, strategic planning, and organizational development. His mission of improving the health of all we serve has helped to shape his career and allowed the organizations he has led to become well-respected and known for high quality care.
Mr. Ulbricht continues to be active in many community and professional organizations that include: The American Cancer Association, The American College of Healthcare Executives, The American Group Management Association, The American Heart Association, Bishop’s Catholic Healthcare Conference – State Chair, Florida Hospital Association, Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice Recipient – Papal Honor, St. Petersburg Chamber, St. Petersburg Economic Development Corporation St. Petersburg YMCA, Suncoasters and United Way.
Mr. Ulbricht received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration-Finance from the University of Kentucky and his Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Regis University in Denver.
Mr. Ulbricht is married to his wife, Ann, and has two daughters – Emilie and Lindsey.
