David Friedman

Senior Vice President and General Counsel

David Friedman is Senior Vice President and General Counsel for Baptist Health South Florida, the largest not-for-profit hospital system in South Florida. He has been an attorney at Baptist Health since 2000, serving as Senior Corporate Attorney, Associate General Counsel and Corporate Vice President and General Counsel.

Prior to joining Baptist Health, Mr. Friedman was an attorney at Shands HealthCare, a multi-hospital system affiliated with the University of Florida. Mr. Friedman is board certified as a health law attorney by the Florida Bar. He has taught health law as an adjunct lecturer at the Stempel School of Public Health at Florida International University.

Mr. Friedman holds a Juris Doctor with honors from the University of Florida and a Master of Public Health in health policy and administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He served as a Trustee of Our Kids of Miami-Dade and Monroe and on the board of the Florida Academy of Health Care Attorneys. Nightingale’s Healthcare News previously named Mr. Friedman as an Outstanding In-House Counsel to Hospitals/Healthcare Systems.
