Mr. Tillett started his career as a CPA in the auditing profession with Coopers & Lybrand, a global accounting firm that later merged with Price Waterhouse to form Pricewaterhouse Coopers. He spent 35 years with the firm before early retirement in 1998.
During those 35 years, he served as the managing partner of units or offices in Dallas, New Orleans, Atlanta, Miami and Southern Florida, and Puerto Rico. Upon retirement, he joined a private equity firm as a partner and led company acquisition teams. He is also the owner of a residential development in Utah and is building speculative homes in Texas and Louisiana.
Mr. Tillett has served as Chairman on many charitable, art and civic boards, including many leadership responsibilities related to fundraising. He and his wife, Susan, have been a team for 53 years and have three daughters and six grandchildren. The family enjoys golf, water skiing, snow skiing, tennis, travel and reading.
A native of Guantanamo, Cuba, Rodriguez earned his Bachelors of Science degree in Accounting in 1971, from Florida Atlantic University and completed the Owner's and President's Management Program at Harvard Business School in 1983. Upon graduation from FAU, he started his accounting career with Madsen & Sapp, Certified Public Accountants. In 1974 he was elected to partnership in the firm and was elected the Managing Partner in 1979. He was the Managing Partner and CEO from 1979 until 2006 when the firm was sold to Crowe Horvvath. During his career as a CPA, Rodriguez was also a founder and Treasurer of DME Corporation a manufacturing company involved in defense and aerospace which was sold in 2009.
He was Chairman of the Florida Board of Accountancy and President of the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Currently, he is Chairman of the Board of Directors of Republic Services, Inc. a NYSE listed company involved in the solid waste industry. He has also served as chairman and/or a board member of several public and private companies.
Among his civic activities, Rodriguez is presently a member of the Board of Directors of PBS, WPBT Channel 2 Miami, Performing Arts Center Authority of Broward County and Community Foundation of Broward. He previously served as Chairman of the Museum of Discovery and Science, United Way of Broward County and as a member of the Board of Trustees of Holy Cross Hospital.
Through the years, he has been recognized for his strong civic and business leadership. He has been the recipient of the 2004 Entrepreneur Hall of Fame Award, 2001 Silver Medallion Award, and in 1998 he received the Sun-Sentinel's Excalibur Award. He has also received recognition for his service to the CPA profession.
Mr. Rodriguez resides in Fort Lauderdale and in Key Largo with his wife Cindy.

Before Diageo LAC he was VP/Corporate Card and Travel for American Express/Brazil, Business Unit Director Cough/Cold Medicines for Shering-Plough/North American and Director of Operations/Spain and Portugal for PepsiCo International.
He is on the board of directors for Cuervo, the lead independent board director for Bupa LAC and Careplus, and Lifefy (an insurance startup).
He is also currently on the following non-profit boards – two Baptist boards and a member of the main Baptist Finance and Risk Committee; and a board member for Lewis Center for Church Leadership of Wesley Seminary.
In the past he was the chairman of the board of the Amcham Sao Paulo for two terms (1999-2000).
