Adriene McCoy

Senior Vice President and Chief People Officer

Adriene McCoy is Senior Vice President and Chief People Officer of Baptist Health South Florida, the region’s largest not-for-profit healthcare system with more than 27,000 employees and 4,000 affiliated physicians. She is responsible for overseeing all of Baptist Health’s talent functions, including HR Business Partners, Total Rewards, HR Operations, Talent Management/Development and Talent Acquisition. Ms. McCoy joined Baptist Health in 2007 as Assistant Vice President of Human Resources and was promoted to Chief Human Resources Officer in 2014.

She has more than 25 years of experience in healthcare human resources management. Ms. McCoy’s background includes leadership roles in both for-profit and non-for-profit healthcare environments, including large hospital systems and acute and long-term care facilities. Prior to joining Baptist Health, she was Regional Director of Employee Relations at Tenet Healthcare, where she provided support to senior executives on employee relations, labor relations and workforce compliance matters.

Ms. McCoy completed both her undergraduate and graduate degrees at Barry University in Miami, Florida. She holds a Master’s degree in Human Resources Development and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Management.

Several organizations have honored Ms. McCoy for excellence in her profession. This year, the South Florida Business Journal recognized her with their Influential Women in Business Award. The Black Professionals Network also recognized her with their 2021 Black Woman in Excellence Award. In 2018, the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce recognized her with the HR Ring of Honor Award. In 2017, she was awarded Healthcare HR Executive of the Year by HRO Today magazine.

Ms. McCoy currently sits on the Board of Advisors for Florida International University Center for Leadership, Lotus House/Sundari Foundation Board, Children’s Harbor Board, Bakehouse Art Complex Board and she serves as the Vice-Chair for the YWCA South Florida Board.

Ms. McCoy lives in Miramar with her husband and two sons.
