Our Approach to Oncology Infusion Care

Our Approach to Oncology Infusion Care

At Baptist Health Cancer Care, we know cancer impacts everyone differently. That’s why we offer treatments tailored specifically to you. Our expert infusion care team works with your referring provider and focuses on giving you personalized care.

Our specialized team of infusion pharmacists and nurses leads the region in providing world-class oncology care. As highly trained healthcare providers, we have the experience to identify and evaluate your specific needs, review your care plan and reduce any infusion-related risks. Our team uses the most advanced equipment and technologies for each treatment to administer your medication and monitor your progress.

What can you expect from oncology infusion therapy?

Our team ensures you receive the most comfortable, relaxed infusion therapy experience possible. Infusion therapy appointments can last several hours, so we strive to deliver seamless, personalized care from the moment you arrive.

We base each medication dose on your current health condition. That up-to-date dosing means your infusion therapy may differ slightly during each visit. To deliver the most effective medication, our infusion pharmacy only prepares your infusion after we review your latest lab results.

Adult patients receive treatment in the Infusion Center. Our 68 infusion bays and five rapid treatment stations feature comfortable furniture and a tablet for web browsing, television or movies. Many of our treatment bays are connected by sliding doors, giving you the option for complete privacy or socializing with other patients during your session.

We have also created the Infusionarium, a kid-friendly treatment space for our pediatric patients. In this facility, they can play video games, watch movies or participate in live science or nature broadcasts while receiving life-saving therapies.

During your visit, in addition to any cancer treatment, you may also receive pain medication, antibiotics, blood cells, iron supplements or hydration. Our care team will check on you multiple times during your session. We are always available if you start to feel unwell or have any questions or requests.
