About Mariners Hospital

Founded in 1962, Mariners Hospital is the only hospital serving the Upper Keys community. A 25-bed critical access hospital with medical-surgical and intensive care units, Mariners is proud to offer an outstanding, compassionate healthcare experience. It is home to one of the southernmost branches of Baptist Health's Miami Cancer Institute. Specialized nurses, trained by the Oncology Nursing Society in chemotherapy/biotherapy administration and pain management, offer care in a supportive and healing environment. The Diabetes Care Center and Sleep Diagnostic Center are also located on campus, as well as swing bed services, which are available to patients who are recovering from illness or injury and require specialized care. SPECT/CT scans were added to its imaging capabilities, which combines two different diagnostic scans into one for a more complete view of the body region being looked at. This is particularly useful for helping to identify tumors, brain injuries, and spinal fractures. Additionally, to help the Keys community achieve a new level of well-being, the 7,000-square-foot Wellness Center, located in the Tassell Medical Arts Building, offers a comprehensive line of gym equipment, exercise physiologists, group exercise classes and personal training.

Resources for Hospital Data

Florida's Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) makes available data on hospital prices and performance on their Internet website at FloridaHealthFinder.gov and Pricing.FloridaHealthFinder.gov. The data on hospital prices and performance are based on a compilation of charges for the average patient. A patient's bill may vary from the average shown, depending upon the severity of illness and individual care needs. The service bundle information is a non-personalized estimate of costs that may be incurred by the patient for anticipated services and that actual costs will be based on services actually provided to the patient.
