How It Works

How It Works

When you receive a prescription from Baptist Health Infusion Care Pharmacy, our pharmacists and nurses spend time with you explaining what your medication does and how to use the equipment and supplies properly, so you feel safe and confident with infusion therapy at home.

They will tell you:

  • When and how your medication will be administered
  • How to handle your medication(s) safely
  • How to identify and prevent dangerous side effects
  • What other side effects may be common and how to deal with them
  • How to store and dispose of your medications safely

This clinical care and counseling continues throughout your treatment.
