Virtual visits are now offered for new or existing patients. Same-day and next-day appointments are also available.
Annual Checkups
Conducted in person or via telehealth, our doctors and advanced practitioners provide you with a head-to-toe assessment and a personalized wellness and prevention plan aimed at helping you take proactive measures toward a healthier life.
Chronic Disease Management
Our team takes the time to learn about your lifestyle, medical and family history to guide your care and provide education and support to help you manage your chronic disease. Should you need a referral to a specialist, Baptist Health’s extensive network of specialists allows for easy scheduling and continuity of care.
Sick Visits
When you are feeling bad, Baptist Health Primary Care offers same-day and next-day in-person or virtual appointments. A doctor or advanced practitioner will assess your symptoms and order diagnostic tests, including imaging studies and laboratory tests, and prescribe medications, if needed.
Well-Woman Care
Our comprehensive approach includes routine and personalized well care for women, without the need to see a gynecologist separately. Baptist Health Primary Care providers follow guidelines established by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), and when needed, can refer you to specialists for follow-up. Our well-woman services include:
- Annual gynecologic exams
- Assessment and counseling
- Immunizations based on age and risk factors
- Pap smears and other diagnostic tests
Nutritional Counseling*
Nutritional counseling is available for weight loss, prenatal nutrition and healthy eating to manage chronic diseases.
Mental Health
Baptist Health Primary Care includes social workers, who help patients manage a variety of emotional and behavioral concerns, such as depression, addiction or managing stress. They also provide crisis intervention and link patients to psychiatrists and psychotherapists.
Diabetes Program*
Educating patients about diabetes and how to manage it properly is the main goal of our Diabetes Program. Over a six-month period, our multidisciplinary team of doctors, dietitians, nurses, healthcare coaches, social workers and exercise physiologists work collaboratively and with you to help you manage Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes.
Lab Services*
Onsite lab services, including blood work, urine tests, strep cultures and other common health screenings are available at all Baptist Health Primary Care offices. This allows your primary care physician or advanced registered nurse practitioner to diagnose and treat most illnesses in one visit.
Flu Shots and Vaccines
Flu shots and vaccinations are an important tool to keep you and your family healthy. Baptist Health Primary Care offers common adult vaccines. Baptist Health Primary Care Family Medicine Center at West Kendall Baptist Hospital provides immunizations for infants, children and adolescents.
Pediatrics and Family Medicine
Baptist Health Primary Care Family Medicine Center at West Kendall Baptist Hospital offers primary care services for infants to adults. And with access to Family Medicine residents from the Florida International University Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine, you and your family will receive care from doctors and residents who have the most up-to-date knowledge and training in prevention, chronic disease management and acute care.
